Happy Halloween Taco Bell

You've all been to Taco Bell. The main thing that I want to mention is their new pepper jack taco. Oh my GOSH! It's great and it tastes even better when you realize that you only paid 89 cents for it. That's the thing about Taco Bell, you can't beat their prices. In fact, being halloween, and if by some miracle you're reading this today, you should know that the pepper jack taco is free tonight only. Show up there and they'll give them to you just for coming, that's my kind of restaurant.

If you ask me, I would say that at Taco Bell you shouldn't look past the value menu. Another food item that should be mentioned on the value menu is the nachos. They're just as cheap as the black jack taco and so tasty.

Anyway, happy halloween!

You can find a Taco Bell, you don't need me to put their info down.

Random Thought for a Class Assignment

This weeks blog is going to be a little different that the normal restaurant review. Instead this week, for one of my classes, I'm blogging about something random. Maybe not so random to some of you, being nice to people for no reason.

So when was the last time you did something nice for someone, a stranger, with no reason to actually be nice. This past week I was asked to do something nice for a stranger compulsively. This is what happened...

I won this t-shirt, brand new, still wrapped. I decided this could count as something nice to give away so I turned and handed it to the nearest stranger. She looked at my as though what was happening wasn't real, and I just repeated the word, "here," over and over again. It doesn't look right grammatically, but phonetically it sounds well.

Anyway, I think giving people things feels great. There's nothing better than trying to do something out of the ordinary and having some look at you like you're crazy.

Try it out...

The Cheesecake Factory

I had to try The Cheesecake Factory because of the Madeira chicken. That might not mean anything to you, but to me, that is the name of a little island of the coast of Morocco. It was there I spent a portion of my mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I went not knowing if this chicken had any connection to the island, and the truth is, I still don't know. :) I'll tell you what though, I loved the meal.

The food was served quickly and tasted wonderfully. I think one of the things that pleased me the most was the portions served. I felt as though I received bang for my buck! I read some reviews on some other sources about this restaurant and I was surprised to see so many complaints about the food quality and environment. I enjoyed the environment and thought that is was fitting. As far as the food goes, it's as a said, delicious.

Obviously you should try some cheesecake while you're there. If you ever meet someone who did not enjoy a cheesecake there you know that: 1) they're weird 2) and they're unaware of what they enjoy. I say that because there is a huge list of different cheesecakes to choose from, so if you can't find one thing that you'd enjoy, I wouldn't want to eat with you.

Salsas y Sabores

Salsas y Sabores is brand new! They've been officially opened for about two weeks and pretty soon I think it'll be well known. I'm not sure if you can tell by the name but this place is authentic. At this point it's run by one man from mexico, trust me, he knows what he's doing.

While eating there I was amazed by the quality of the food and the taste! Wow. I tried the Gringa, which is a quesadilla with pineapple and pastor meat, I loved it! The buddies I went with were also satisfied with there meals and had no complaints.
Since this place is brand new, and so authentic, you can only pay with cash. I should mention also that since there is only one man running the show I would expect the fastest service in the world. To his credit though, I was amazed at how quickly he prepared the food and how kind he was as our server.

This is the kind of restaurant where you can build a friendship with the chef/owner and he'll prepare for you whatever you want. The other thing that was awesome was that he had a few different salsas for us to snack on while we were waiting for the food. The salsas were his creation and were also delicious.

note: this is actually the address of Thai Kitchen but salsas y sabores neighbors it.

Tucanos Brazilian Grill

If you haven't been to Tucanos, you need to go. The food taste delicious and you're exposed to some food groups you might not otherwise try. There is a salad bar full of typical brazilian foods and you can eat as much as you want. Once you're in your seat, servers circle around with meat on skewers and shave slices right onto your plate. What's wonderful is that they'll keep serving you meat until you can't eat anymore! In my opinion the best tasting cut is the garlic sirloin, mmm, it's so good.

Dinner is a bit more expensive than lunch. Lunch is 12.95 and dinner is 19.95, you're paying for what you get though. The restaurant has an awesome atmosphere and is an enjoyable place to be. While you're there you should try everything. You can just take a bite and leave the rest to be cleared. The waiters are super friendly and more than willing to make sure you have an excellent experience there.
